FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question What does your curriculum focus on?
Answer We use the A Beka curriculum for reading, phonics, arithmetic and Bible. The reading and phonics portion teaches children beginning and ending phonetic sounds, blending sounds of consonants and blending sounds of vowels. Learning these basics gives our children the ability to sound out numerous words successfully.
Question How can I know if my child is socially and academically ready for kindergarten?
Answer Our teachers perform quarterly evaluations on their children to make sure they are grasping the social and academic skills they will need to succeed in kindergarten. Parents receive a copy of their child's evaluations throughout the year, so that they can see what areas in their child's development need more work and what areas have been mastered. These evaluations also help teachers know which areas to focus on with each child during their one-on-one skills time. When a specific social or academic issue persists, teachers communicate their concerns and suggestions with the appropriate child's parents.
